Perhaps with more development, they could become vibrant extensions of your alchemical adventure.

At such moments, the book hinders more than helps, and this only adds to the difficulties.

Such simplification deprives character development of depth and involvement. Instead of a sense of adventure, boredom arises, because there is no tangible growth, no significant plot shifts. All this makes the journey faceless and monotonous, and the gaming experience — dull and unimpressive.
What’s in the box?
I recently started playing Potion Craft on Xbox Series S and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of adaptation for the gamepad — everything works quite smoothly and stably. However, it feels like the project was originally created with a focus on keyboard and mouse control. This immediately brings back warm memories of good old PC games — there is even an FPS counter, which in the context of such leisurely gameplay looks more like a tribute to tradition than a necessity.
By the way, it is quite possible to connect a keyboard and mouse — this is certainly a plus. However, the control settings are limited only to the gamepad button scheme. Navigation through the interface is carried out mainly with the mouse, and the player will have to find the list of hot keys on his own, which can be irritating in places.
During the game, I encountered a couple of technical rough spots. They are not critical, but, for example, windows sometimes overlap each other, preventing you from hitting the right buttons accurately. The potion bottle creation interface also leaves much to be desired, with controls that feel more like a jumble of symbols than an intuitive system.
The potion appearance editing menu is particularly cluttered, with the Xbox version looking overly saturated, perhaps in an attempt to maintain a craftsman-like aesthetic. Fortunately, this only affects the appearance and not the functionality, so the overall impression is rather positive.
Despite these shortcomings, Potion Craft retains its charm. The game continues to delight with its atmosphere and leisurely pace, making each session a cozy and meditative experience.

The initial hours of Potion Craft are genuinely enchanting as you dive into the fundamentals and discover new mechanics. Unfortunately, it doesn’t take long for the game to start feeling a bit monotonous and repetitive.
